TOPIC: PRESS ON.
"My brothers, I do not count myself to have taken possession, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind and reaching forth to the things before, I press toward the mark for the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus. "
Phil. 3:13,14. The demand on excellence in life is very great but enjoyable when you are working through a vision.
Dreams don't work out overnight, it takes your persistence and determination.
Nothing in the world takes the place of these two qualities. Apostle Paul says here that he pressed toward the mark.
This was a sign of exerting force against all odds. A law in physics says, "To every action, there is always an equal and opposite reaction."
Every time you purpose to move forward, there will always be an equal and opposite reaction.
This is why many have found it difficult to change.
There would be many evident reasons why you should not change. But change is necessary if you are to make significant progress. "I press toward the mark for the prize.".
He had a goal to achieve and pressed towards making it a reality. Dreams just don't come true without you playing your own part. Striving for success is like climbing a mountain.
It would not be easy, but you enjoy every bit of it because you have a VISION.
You will be stretched, you will be pulled, you will run out of breath and sometimes feel like quitting. But it has been said that quitters never win. When you quit, the bible says, your strength is small.
Never give up no matter how tough the pressure is. Press harder against the pressure. You either pay now and play later or you play now and pay later.
There is always a PAY day. You've got to pay! No pain, no gain.
Work hard to make your dream a reality. "He who deals with a lazy hand becomes poor; but the hand of the hard worker makes rich."
Prov.10:4. "The hand of the hard worker shall bear rule, but the lazy shall be under service." Prov. 12:24.
SAY THIS BOLDLY,
I do not count myself to have arrived yet but this one thing I do - I forget those mistakes of the past. I press towards my goal for excellence. I am an achiever and not a quitter.
With the help of the Lord, I am going forward undistracted. Amen
